ghs robotics team holding their robot at state competition on the competition floor

Congratulations to the Grapevine High School Competitive Robotics team for winning the bronze medal at the First Tech Challenge UIL State Championship held March 24. During the event, teams compete in pairs, or alliances, to perform certain tasks to score points. Mustang Robotics finished as the third place alliance captain and the overall top-ranked 5A high school in North Texas – an outstanding accomplishment given that the team only has one year of experience.

During the regular season, Mustang Robotics received multiple awards, including the Inspire Award, which ultimately advanced them to the state championship. This prestigious award is presented to the team that best embodies a combination of all other honors including robot design, innovation, programming and community outreach, as well as documentation of the team’s journey through the season in the form of an engineering portfolio.
