GCISD Transfer Information

Transfer Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will be available beginning March 24, 2025.

GCISD Student Transfers
GCISD has updated its transfer policies – FDA(LOCAL) and FDB(LOCAL) – for the 2025-2026 school year.

GCISD permits limited enrollment of nonresident students who reside within the cities of Colleyville and Grapevine, as well as children of resident grandparents of GCISD, children of District employees, children of School Resource Officers assigned to GCISD schools, and children of Colleyville or Grapevine city employees. Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, any nonresident student will be assigned to attend the schools in a designated pathway, except for children of employees.

Resident transfers in grades 5-12 during the 2024-2025 school year are "frozen" (or "grandfathered") into the previous policy. Students in kindergarten-grade 4 who were at a campus other than their zoned school for the 2024-2025 school year are also “frozen” at their current campus. Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, students who were in kindergarten through 4th grade during the 2024-2025 school year and were on a transfer for elementary school will attend their zoned middle school campus starting in the sixth grade.

Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, no new resident transfers will be available for students in grades K-4 other than for the elementary STEM program.
