District Information

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, is a K-12 public school system in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex that is committed to educational excellence, a rigorous curriculum, and bold, innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

GCISD promotes a positive culture among teachers and staff. GCISD has provided a compensation increase to staff, and the percentage of our staff who are directly involved in instruction has risen every year since 2012-2013.

Student safety is a priority. Campus administrators emphasize building relationships with students and encourage students to share information and report concerns. In 2011 and 2016, GCISD voters approved a number of upgrades to support a safe and secure school environment, including video camera replacement, controlled vestibules, and updated video hardware. GCISD partners with the Colleyville and Grapevine Police Departments to place a School Resource Officer on every school campus.

GCISD manages taxpayer resources responsibly and efficiently. The district's Financial Services department consistently receives recognition for its high level of transparency and financial reporting from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International and Government Finance Officers Association. GCISD’s superior financial management is indicated by its credit rating from nationally recognized agencies such as Moody’s Investors Service and Standard & Poor’s (S&P) Global Ratings, that evaluate the District’s financial strength and its ability to pay its existing bonds. GCISD received a credit rating upgrade from Moody's in July 2017, after the passage of the 2016 Bond Program. The District's rating of Aa1 is the second highest rating possible from Moody’s. This rating is earned through a variety of indicators and clearly points to strong financial health as determined by an independent national evaluation. In September 2019, the District received a credit rating upgrade from AA to AA+ from the S&P Global Rating Agency. The rating indicates that there is an expectation that the District will maintain its very strong financial position. By receiving the rating of AA+, GCISD has received the highest rating offered to a Texas school district. Since 2005, GCISD has exercised efficient financial management through the prepayment and refinancing of bonds resulting in a savings of $112 million in interest costs.
