The Grapevine-Colleyville Association of Retired School Employees (GCARSE) recently presented five first-year teachers with $100 grants. Applications were sent by GCARSE to each first-year teacher with the opportunity to apply and the GCARSE committee selected the following teachers to each receive $100.

Did you know today is Education Support Professionals (ESP) Day? It’s a day to celebrate the incredible GCISD support staff who make our schools such wonderful places to work and learn. Take a moment to say ‘thank you’ to our custodians, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, nurses and paraprofessionals to help them feel truly appreciated. #WeAreGCISD

At tonight's girls' basketball games, GCISD athletics is partnering with the Grace Christmas Cottage to spread holiday cheer! Bring a new, unwrapped toy to the CHHS or GHS girls home basketball game and receive free admission for one person. Games start with JV at 5 p.m., so come out, enjoy the action and share the joy of giving! #WeAreGCISD


♟️On Monday, November 18, approximately 70 Glenhope Elementary students participated in a worldwide online Hour of Chess tournament! These brilliant minds, part of the school’s parent-organized after-school chess club, showcased their skills in strategy and logical thinking during this exciting event. What a great turnout at Timberline Elementary School’s “Taste of Timberline” event on Saturday, November 16! Families and staff enjoyed games, food booths and student performances. A great time was had by everyone! #WeAreGCISD

Heritage Middle School, an AVID National Demonstration site, recently hosted a showcase for schools across the United States, offering an inside look at how the campus earned this prestigious designation and what makes its college and career demonstration program exceptional. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is implemented in all of GCISD’s middle schools, as well as Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School. #WeAreGCISD

Congratulations to Bransford Elementary student Melanie Lin for earning an honorable mention in the Trinity River Authority’s 2024 Art Contest! The Trinity River Authority of Texas received over 1,500 entries, and Melanie’s submission showcased her incredible talent. Great work! #WeAreGCISD


Last night, the district hosted its third Leadership GCISD class this semester, presented by the Schools team. Attendees received a personal tour of the athletics, fine arts and career & technical educational facilities as they learned more from staff members and students involved with those programs. They also received an informational presentation about student services and counseling. If you are interested in applying for the class, which will be offered again in the spring semester, please do this through the Committee application on www.gcisd.net/committees and select “Leadership GCISD.”
We also want to thank Wise Guys Pizzeria for donating the delicious dinner for the class. #WeAreGCISD


The celebrations continue for GCISD’s Collegiate Academy at Tarrant County College Northeast, which was recently named one of just 356 schools in the 2024 cohort of National Blue Ribbon Schools! The school was honored at the National Blue Ribbon Schools Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C., on November 7 and 8. #WeAreGCISD

Last week, GCISD Nutrition Services brought storytime to lunch with a special Literary Lunch event at our elementary campuses! Students enjoyed a reading of Creepy Carrots while enjoying tasty ginger carrots inspired by the story. Plus, one lucky student from each grade who chose a plated lunch won their very own copy of Creepy Carrots! 📚🥕 #WeAreGCISD
