Colleyville Elementary's fourth and fifth graders wrapped up an amazing student council election guided by counselor Katie Segretti and learning liaison Ashley Francis. Candidates gave campaign speeches, and every student received a voter registration card and "I Voted" sticker after submitting their ballot. It was an excellent way for students to experience the entire voting process firsthand and learn about civic responsibility!

If you are seeing dots at schools this week, it is in celebration of International Dot Day, a fun day to connect, collaborate and create. The day was actually September 15, but schools are celebrating all week long. Enjoy the pictures from Timberline, where students in the school’s Cultural Artistic Leadership Academy Art Studio created designs inspired by artists from Spain and celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month. At Bear Creek, students and staff dapperly dressed in dots passed a giant pencil to symbolize the mark that these creators will make on the world.
