The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has announced a temporary delay in the release of 2023 A-F accountability ratings for all districts and campuses across the State of Texas. The ratings were originally scheduled for release on September 28 and will now be delayed by approximately one month, according to the TEA’s press release.

Yesterday, visiting teachers and students from West Lothian, Scotland as well as representatives from Barossa Valley, Australia, who are part of the Sister Cities Program that is partnered with the City of Grapevine had an opportunity to see some of our great educational programs. Led by GCISD staff, the group toured the district’s Technology Education and Career Center, the FFA Barn, the Mustang Activity Center at GHS, and Mustang Panther Stadium. #WeAreGCISD

The ceremony for the Class of 2023 inductees will be at 6 p.m. Friday, September 15, in the George and Donna Nigh Center on campus and also at halftime of the UCO Hall of Fame Game Saturday, September 16.

Heritage Middle School P.E. teacher and coach Rusty Drye promised students that if they surpassed their fundraising goal for athletics, he would shave his head. Not only did they surpass it, they reached $51,208, twice as much as they typically raise each year, and during lunchtime yesterday, he made good on his promise.

Please join us for our first Parent Tech Academy of the school year at the Professional Development & Education Center (PDEC) on September 20th at 6:30 p.m. The technology department will discuss apps that parents use, such as Canvas, Skyward, Lightspeed and Seesaw. Update 5:18 p.m.: According to the Colleyville Fire Department, Warrior Way and the southbound 121 access road remains closed between Hall-Johnson and Glade. If you are traveling to CHHS for football or tennis, please use an alternate route.
Update 5:12 p.m.: Power remains out at CHHS, HMS, HES, ECDC, and Heritage Annex buildings. At this time, freshman football games and tennis matches at CHHS will begin as scheduled.

Original Message 4:45 p.m.: A transformer blew and started a fire in a field by the 121 access road near Colleyville Heritage HS. We currently do not have power at CHHS, Heritage MS, Heritage ES, ECDC, and Heritage Annex buildings. The fire department is on the scene. Parents with students at ECDC or EDP are encouraged to pick up their children as soon as possible.
