More than 100 units are being replaced throughout the summer at DES, CTMS, GHS, CMS and CES. In the picture, you can also see the new turf that, in addition to CMS, was installed at GMS and HMS.
These are just some of the many projects happening throughout the summer to ensure our campuses are ready for GCISD students to return on August 14, and we can't wait to see everyone! #WeAreGCISD

Congratulations to Cross Timbers Middle School student Taryn Jenkins, who recently qualified for the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation State Track & Field Competition in Brownsville, Texas! The team she is a part of, the Gazelles Track Club, will compete in over 28 events at the state level. Good luck, Taryn! #WeAreGCISD

🏈 Exciting Junior Captain News! 🏈
On August 1, sign-ups for Junior Captains will open! As a Junior Captain, pre-K through fifth grade students can step onto the field to deliver the game ball at a home football game and join the team for the coin toss. Sign-ups for the random drawing will be shared via social media and the district’s website, so be sure to be on the lookout and register your elementary students! #WeAreGCISD

Congratulations to Grapevine High School alumni Dasan Hill for being the 69th overall pick in the 2024 MLB draft. We can’t wait to see his continued success in the Minnesota Twins organization. #WeAreGCISD

Thank you to the Colleyville Executive Organization (CEO) for inviting GCISD’s Director of Fine Arts Dr. Paul Sikes and Executive Director of Athletics Todd Raymond to speak last week. Dr. Sikes and Coach Raymond presented the programs’ successes and how students are engaged through participation. #WeAreGCISD
The 2024 MLB All-Star Game is returning to Texas on Tuesday, July 16, and two GCISD alumni are on the American League roster! Welcome home to Bobby Witt Jr., Colleyville Heritage High School graduate who now plays for the Kansas City Royals, and David Fry, Grapevine High School graduate who now plays for the Cleveland Guardians. Witt is also participating in the Home Run Derby on Monday, July 15, where James Russell, another CHHS alumnus and former professional baseball player, will be pitching to him.
