
Proposition C proposes updates to the GCISD Swim Center, but did you know that the facility isn’t just for district use? The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Swim Center is open to community members for activities like club swim practice, water aerobics, swim lessons and open lap swims. The CTE Department, in partnership with local employers like the Grapevine Parks and Rec, the Grapevine Fire Department and the Grapevine Police Department, provided students with a Mini Job Fair. High school students were able to talk with potential employers and work on their interviewing skills. It was a great opportunity for students to gain real-life job fair experience and get connected with a potential summer job. #WeAreGCISD





To support the joy of reading, community partner Chicken N Pickle, Grapevine stopped by Timberline Elementary School yesterday to donate 30 copies of the children’s book “I Know an Old Lady” to the school’s second grade classes. In addition to the book delivery, Chicken N Pickle General Manager Tony Polichino read the book to students.

GCISD students recently competed in the Affiliate-level Mid-Cities Destination Imagination tournament hosted by Haltom Middle School. Each team worked on a long-term challenge, presented their solutions and participated in an Instant Challenge. Out of 2,200 teams in the state of Texas, four teams from GCISD will continue in the Lone Star Finals State Tournament in April. The teams include students from Glenhope Elementary School, Cross Timbers Middle School, Grapevine High School, Colleyville Heritage High School and Collegiate Academy. Congratulations to the teams, and good luck at State!

At their bocce ball practice last night, Special Olympics athletes presented their teammates, our School Resource Officers, with medals in appreciation for their participation in the upcoming April 13 tournament and as a thank you for their service. Twelve Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School juniors recently attended Texas A&M University to tour the campus, meet with admissions, eat in the dining hall and talk with current students about campus life and classes. The Northeast Tarrant County A&M Club's Howdy Trip was made possible through generous alumni donations. #WeAreGCISD

The GCISD Hope Squads, a suicide prevention program built around the power of connection, gathered together for the annual Hope Squad Retreat, where they engaged in team-building, skill-building and planning for campus programming. Congratulations to the two Cross Timber Middle School teams that recently participated in the Affiliate Level Mid-Cities Destination Imagination tournament hosted by Haltom Middle School. The teams placed first and second in their challenges, which qualified them for the Lone Star Finals State Tournament. Today is Election Day for the 2024 Primary Election. Tarrant County voters can visit any Vote Center to place their ballot. As a reminder, Heritage Elementary and Timberline Elementary are serving as polling locations today, so families may experience more traffic than usual in those locations throughout the day.
