School will begin at the following times for each campus: Elementary Schools: 9:40 a.m. Middle Schools: 10:10 a.m. High Schools: 10:40 a.m. Collegiate Academy: 10:35 a.m. Early Childhood Special Education sessions will also begin on a two-hour delay Morning Extended Day Program will begin on a two-hour delay Early Childhood Development Center will also begin on a two-hour delay All staff members, other than transportation and facilities services staff needed to prepare for school operations, should report to work two hours after their regularly scheduled start time. Secondary campuses will communicate their revised bell schedules for the day with their families and staff. Dismissal will be at the normal time at all campuses. Information regarding after-school activities will be communicated directly by the specific activity teacher, director, or coach. Bus rider families are encouraged to sign up for Transportation Services’ SMART Tag Parent Portal, where parents can be notified when their child’s bus is nearing the stop. This plan is based on the information that our district leaders have at this time. The district will continue to monitor weather conditions, and if there are any changes to this plan, the district will continue to communicate those details through www.GCISD.net, email, text messages (for those subscribed), the GCISD mobile app and official GCISD social media accounts. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we monitored this arctic blast. We look forward to seeing our staff and students back at school tomorrow! **Please note that this change to the schedule does not impact iUniversity Prep staff or students.

William Huffman, Grapevine High School Class of 2012 alumnus who swam and ran cross country while in high school, finished 46th in the New York City Marathon held November 5, 2023. What makes his story remarkable is that only three years prior in December 2020, this retired triathlete and Team USA athlete suffered a tragic ski accident. GRAPEVINE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ACHIEVES PERFECT SCORE ON THE SAT Grapevine High School junior Conor McGall has achieved a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT. Leading up to the exam, McGall practiced on the PSAT and was most focused on the reading portion of the exam, describing it as the hardest part. When asked what he thought about the possibility of getting a perfect score, he said, “I thought it was plausible. I was hoping, but I didn’t have too many expectations before taking the exam.” Once McGall finished the SAT, he didn’t think about the results very much, until after receiving a text message from his mom to let him know the results came in. “When I went to the website and saw the results, I was ecstatic,” he shared. McGall credits his teachers for the preparation and getting him to love English and math. He said that his teachers are the real stars. Now that he has achieved a perfect score on the SAT, McGall said he plans on taking the ACT. After he graduates, he hopes to pursue a career in academic research. He was inspired by academic research after completing a four-week research program at the University of Chicago, studying cancer cells. McGall wants to continue his education at the University of Chicago, Stanford University, or the University of Texas at Austin. Congratulations to Conor McGall on this incredible accomplishment!
