Colleyville Heritage High School (CHHS) and Grapevine High School (GHS) are two of five area schools selected to perform in a mass number with VOCES8, the flagship vocal ensemble of the VOCES8 Foundation, that tours globally to perform an extensive repertoire of a cappella concerts and collaborations with leading orchestras, conductors and soloists. CHHS, GHS and the selected schools will join VOCES8 for an October 30 concert at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church in Plano.
Prior to this performance, members of the VOCES8 foundation along with VOCES8 U.S. Scholars visit each school twice to provide educational workshops where they will teach the Voces8 method and mass pieces for the October 30 concert. These clinics are the beginning of a partnership between GCISD Fine Arts and the VOCES8 Foundation to share the love of vocal music with young people and the community.
Watch our video of VOCES8 Scholars working with our CHHS and GHS students on September 22, the first of two clinics in preparation for the upcoming performance.
