Grapevine High School ASPIRE teacher Emily Ramser was named a 2023 Outstanding Teaching the Humanities Award recipient presented by Humanities Texas. She is one of 12 honorees across Texas.
“I’m honored to be recognized because I love teaching English and I love teaching research,” Ramser stated. “It’s very important to teach students about the importance of reading and research.”
A teacher with GCISD since 2020, Ramser teaches ASPIRE English I, ASPIRE AP Language and Composition, ASPIRE AP Research and STEM AP Research classes at GHS.
In GCISD, she organized the district’s ASPIRE Symposium, where students in ninth and 10th grades develop, design and implement their own research through English class, and then learn to write a full academic paper with the literature and methodology that is publicly presented.
GCISD’s ASPIRE Academy for the Highly Gifted is now in its 10th year. ASPIRE is an acronym and stands for Advancing Scholars in Pursuit of Innovation, Real-world connections, and Excellence in education. Learn more by visiting the ASPIRE Academy web page.
As an honoree, Ramser will receive $5,000 for her achievements and $1,000 for her school to purchase humanities instructional materials.
Congratulations to Emily Ramser!
