On April 22, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD students competed in the UIL Academics Regional Competition. With more than 30 areas of academic events, GCISD had students competing in 10 different areas, with many of the students placing and moving on to the state competition.
The UIL Academics Competition is meant to complement the academic curriculum and motivate students to gain higher knowledge and demonstrate mastery of specific skills, while thinking critically and creatively.
With their competition season beginning in August and ending in June, these teams practice all year and compete in different tournaments all over the country to prepare them for the UIL competition.
Congratulations to the following students, all from GHS, for their hard work and their accomplishment of advancing to the state competition. The UIL Academics State Competition will be held in Austin on May 17 and 18.
