Bridge Courses for Secondary Summer School

The Summer Bridge Math and Science Courses are designed to support current students in On-Level or Advanced Math and/or Science for success in Accelerated Math and/or Science. These summer courses will be a blend of face-to-face and asynchronous.   The courses include:

Math for 7th Accelerated (current 6th Math or 6th ADV Math to 7th Accelerated Math)

Algebra 1 Readiness (current 7th Math or 7th ADV Math to Algebra 1)

Science for 7th Accelerated (current 6th Science or 6th ADV Science to 7th Accelerated Math)

Biology Readiness (current 7th Science or 7th ADV Science to Biology)

The courses are designed to strengthen math and science knowledge and thinking skills. The courses are taught by GCISD math and science teachers using an engaging and interactive curriculum. Students are expected to attend all three weeks of the program.  While it is not possible for each course to fully cover the breadth of material learned in the Accelerated classroom, the bridge courses are designed to support students in making the transition into Accelerated.
