Early release for the Pack on Friday, December 20 at 12:10 p.m. Enjoy the afternoon!
It’s time for another Teacher Tidbit Tuesday and, friends, I have been saving this one for today…
Let’s get to know a little more about Andy Tucker!
Andy grew up in Arlington, TX, and was pretty quiet and shy, but did band because that's where his friends were.
Mr. Tucker attended Texas A&M for his Bachelors, and Tarleton State for Masters.
He and his wife have three kids at OC Taylor (PreK, 2nd, 4th) and his wife volunteers/subs there often. He enjoys attending metal concerts, playing metal music, smoking meats (fire and meat is pretty metal), and occasionally golfing.
Andy loves CTMS because he’s somewhat of a big kid himself. “I feel like I'm in my natural element, and I like the flexibility of having all the holidays off. I was in advertising and marketing before becoming a teacher, so I'm happy I still get to use my creativity and eye for design aesthetics in making my lessons and bringing that lens into my instructional approach.”
My favorite thing about Andy is that I can always count on him to tell me the truth, and show me a different perspective, even if it isn’t his own. My second favorite thing about Andy is his sense of humor, and a lot of that comes through on dress-up days. I always look forward to seeing what he’s going to wear, and had a lot of giggles creeping on his Facebook page to pull some of my favorite get-ups!
And since it’s the week before Christmas, let’s start with some of his Santa costumes!
It’s the FINAL week of school for 2024, GCISD! Keep up the hard work, stay focused and make these last few days count. As a reminder, this Friday, December 20, is an early release day for ALL GCISD students, except for those attending iUniversity Prep.
As we head into the winter break, make sure to stay informed about upcoming holidays and important dates by checking your school’s instructional calendar: www.gcisd.net/instructional-calendars.

It’s time for another Teacher Tidbit Tuesday and this week we’re featuring Jeff Gott!
Jeff grew up in GCISD and had the wonderful experience of attending HMS during its first three years. It was fun to have Linda Tidmore, the former CTMS principal, as his assistant principal at HMS while he was a student. He loved being involved in athletics, especially playing football, and truly enjoyed his time studying social studies and math too! GCISD is a family affair, as his mom is a teacher at the ECDC!
Mr. Gott attended Texas A&M, and still sports the maroon on college shirt days.
Jeff and Katy have been married for 15 years, and have two amazing kids, Graham and Gracie, along with two cats, Birdy and Quinn. He enjoys watching football (he can be found yelling at his tv during Bears games), traveling, cooking, videography (he’s made our amazing pep rally videos), and photography (this librarian/amateur photographer wasn’t nervous AATT AALLLLL to be behind the camera to take his photo…)
Jeff’s favorite thing about CTMS is “being in a place where I can make a difference in kid's lives daily.”
A fun tidbit about Jeff is that in 1995, he was a 9th grader at Grapevine Jr. High, which is now the CTMS building, before CHHS opened in 1996. At that time, GJHS served as the 9th grade center prior to the opening of CHHS. He taught and coached current teachers, Coach Davis and Mr. Myers, when he previously taught and coached at CTMS in 2008-2011.
We are so thankful that Jeff found his way back to the Wolfpack, and is willing to share his amazing talents with our community.

It’s time for another Teacher Tidbit Tuesday and today we’re featuring Ellen Hunter!
Ellen is from Toledo, OH. In school she participated in Student Government, tennis, and had a paper route 7 days a week to earn money.
Ms. Hunter attended Ohio State University, but if you ask her she calls it THE Ohio State University. She has been married for 33 years, and they have two sons in their 20s and one dog.
She enjoys walking her dog, playing tennis, biking, reading, and skiing.
Ms. Hunter joined our Wolfpack this year and teaches 7th grade CCR and 8th grade Business. Her favorite thing about being at CTMS is that “the staff is so nice and supportive [and the] students are great!”
A fun tidbit is that she loves to dance! The picture below is from Red Ribbon Week when she dressed as Taylor Swift. Ms. Hunter has been such a fun addition to our Pack and we’re so thankful she’s here.
6th grader Jordy demonstrates how art students are doing a snowy landscape. Point and squirt!
