Glenhope Elementary students and teachers volunteered at Grapevine's Arbor Day event on November 2, organized by Keep Grapevine Beautiful and the city’s Parks and Recreation department. This event is part of Glenhope’s fifth-grade community service initiative, where students regularly volunteer in the community. Past efforts have included organizing a lemonade stand for GRACE, playing board games with individuals with special needs, volunteering at an animal shelter, visiting a retirement home and participating in community clean-ups. Great job, Gators!

Colleyville Heritage High School senior Nicole Namy was recently named the Texas Girls State Samsung American Legion Scholarship finalist, advanced to the national level, and selected as one of 10 national runners-up out of a field of 4,955 applicants, earning a $5,000 scholarship. Since the scholarship's inception, this is only the third time a Texas Girls State honoree has advanced to receive a national-level scholarship. Congratulations, Nicole!

On Tuesday, November 5, Mayor Tate presented the CHHS golf team with the Gallacher Cup at the Grapevine City Council Meeting. Did you know that GCISD’s tax rate is one of the lowest in North Texas? If voters approve a three-cent increase to the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) tax rate through the VATRE, the district would still rank among the lowest rates in the area. Learn more about Proposition A and what's at stake by visiting www.gcisd.net/VATRE.

⚠️GCISD Student Holiday Reminder⚠️
GCISD students, excluding Collegiate Academy and iUniversity Prep, will not have school on November 4-5 for professional development days. We hope our students enjoy a fun and safe weekend.

Help us wish the CHHS band luck at the UIL 5A State Band Competition!

Tomorrow, November 1, is the last day for early voting. Before you go to the polls, know what's on your ballot. If Proposition A: the Voter Approved Tax Ratification Election (VATRE) passes, the $6 million in additional revenue would be used to fund daily operating expenses such as staff, instruction, transportation, maintenance, utilities and extracurricular activities. Learn more by visiting www.gcisd.net/VATRE.

This week, Heritage Elementary School students showed off their love of reading and fall by designing and painting pumpkins as their favorite books to display in the Learning Commons. Last night, Argyle Liberty Christian and Grapevine High School played the first outdoor stadium volleyball match in Texas high school sports history at Liberty Christian’s Warrior Stadium. The game was under the bright lights and in 20-mile-an-hour winds on a court used for the last three NCAA Volleyball Championships. Despite the different conditions, the Mustangs won in four sets. Congratulations!

Are you ready for the final Principals Month highlight? Let’s celebrate Collegiate Academy’s Principal, Lauren Jackson! Her favorite thing about CA is the achievement-focused mindset shared by students and staff alike. Thank you, Ms. Jackson, for your dedication to your school and GCISD! #WeAreGCISD

Only a few days remain before early voting closes. Before heading to the polls, make sure you're informed about Proposition A: the Voter-Approved Tax Ratification Election (VATRE).
Did you know that even with the three additional "golden pennies" from the passage of the VATRE, the total tax rate (Maintenance & Operations plus Interest & Sinking) will be lowered by $0.0014 from the 2023 total tax rate? This is due to state compression on the M&O tax rate and a board-approved decrease on the Interest & Sinking tax rate.
