On Tuesday, October 15, Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School competed in the UIL Region 5 Marching Band Contest where both bands earned the top rating of one from all judges. They now advance to Area competition, which will be held on Saturday, October 26, at the Birdville Fine Arts Athletic Complex.
“We’re incredibly proud of both of our high school bands,” Fine Arts Director Dr. Paul Sikes stated. “Students in these band programs work hard over many weeks to reach a high level and their commitment showed in their outstanding performances.”
The CHHS band is led by Director of Bands William Redd; Assistant Band Directors Jack Zellar and Karson Beer; Percussion Director Nick Beaudet; Guard Director Dr. Martin Godoy; and Percussion Instructors Dan Darrah and Tony Luna.
The GHS band is led by Director of Bands James Rees, Associate Director of Bands Ryan Andre, Assistant Band Director Brandon Slate, Percussion Director Caleb Hinz, Assistant Percussion Director Katie Jobe and Guard Director Ryan Bender.
