GCISD and several campuses received top honors in the Niche 2025 Best Schools and District rankings released this week.
The district was named #2 in the Best School Districts in the DFW Area, and #4 in Texas. GCISD was also #14 in Best Places to Teach in Texas and was one of only two DFW school districts in the top 15. The district also garnered the 19th spot in the Districts with Best Teachers in Texas.
Schools also received top spots at the national, state and local levels.
iUniversity Prep was named #1 in Texas and #2 in America on Niche’s 2025 Best Public Online High Schools ranking. iUP has been at the top of the Texas list since it first qualified for the ranking in 2019.*
In Tarrant County, Glenhope Elementary was #4 in the Best Public Elementary Schools rankings, while in the Best Public High Schools ranking, Colleyville Heritage High School was #3 and Grapevine High School was #4.
Niche is an online platform that provides profiles on every school in America to connect students and families with colleges and schools. While traditional rankings rely almost exclusively on metrics like test scores and academic performance, Niche’s rankings combine user input — ratings from current students, alumni and parents — with quantitative data from sources like the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities, extracurricular activity opportunities and more.
*Prior to 2019, Niche did not have enough data to assess iUP for a ranking given that the school was too new.
