If you heard cheers coming from Colleyville Elementary on Friday, September 27, it was the school holding a pep rally to celebrate being named a 2024 Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence (BRSE) Lighthouse School. The five-year designation is based on the BRSE national assessment process and presented for meeting criteria in nine performance areas of high performing schools:
Student Focus and Support
School Organization and Culture
Challenging Standard and Curriculum
Active Teaching and Learning
Technology and Integration
Professional Community
Leadership and Education Vitality
School, Family, and Community Partnerships
Indicators of Success
In addition to the comprehensive review process for the nine performance areas, stakeholder surveys, interviews, and a two-day onsite review were also completed.
Principal Josh Cassada credited everyone at CES for the award.
“We have an outstanding school community here at CES,” he stated. “We put students first every day, and that is what the elements of the award are all centered on. From our staff to our parents, we all work together to create a positive learning environment for all of our CES students.”
As an honoree, CES will share their expertise and exemplary practices with other schools across the nation as well as provide mentoring and networking to campuses seeking guidance and assistance in improvement initiatives.
The 2024 BRSE honorees will be recognized during the BRSE conference in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday, December 5, 2024. They will also be highlighted on the organization’s website at www.blueribbonschools.com.
The pep rally was held on the football field of Colleyville Middle School with CMS cheerleaders, drill team and band performing at the celebration.
