CHHS Head Golf Coach Ryan Parker said, “Throughout the course of the season, we would talk constantly about the potential to do something that hasn't been done in a long time and that fueled the ladies. They began working longer and harder at practice and even coming up and asking for us to tailor workouts more specific to needs they saw as a group.”

Sirkin, who is the defending UIL 5A golf individual state champion, tied for second place as an individual. Sirkin scored a 72 in the opening round and a 79 in the final round at the regional tournament. This will be Sirkin’s third state tournament appearance. The only other player in GHS golf's history to win an individual state title was Hollie Frizzell, who won in 1983 and 1984.
