GCISD SROs

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD is proud to announce a partnership with the City of Grapevine and City of Colleyville, along with the Grapevine and Colleyville Police Departments, to employ a full-time School Resource Officer (SRO) at all GCISD campuses.

The district has had SROs at all secondary campuses for a number of years, and appreciates the work that has been done to expand this to the remaining 11 elementary schools and the Bridges/Vista campus.

As part of the legislative requirements under House Bill 3 that states all campuses must have at least one armed security officer present during regular school hours at each district campus, these partnerships are making it possible for GCISD to be in full compliance.

On August 7, 2023, the GCISD Board of Trustees approved interlocal agreements with both cities. The City of Grapevine will place SROs in all schools located in the City of Grapevine and Bear Creek Elementary School located in Euless, and the City of Colleyville will place SROs in all schools located in the City of Colleyville.

“We are grateful for the partnership and support of the cities we serve,” said Superintendent Dr. Brad Schnautz. “We’re proud that our local men and women in blue will be the ones fulfilling this safety role, and we look forward to welcoming them to the GCISD family.”

All SROs will begin their work in GCISD immediately.
