Veterans Day is November 11, and many GCISD campuses are hosting events or participating in special lessons to honor those who served.

Wednesday, November 9

Grapevine Elementary School | 6:30 p.m.
Third and fourth grade classes will perform a Veteran's Day program for families They also will perform for students and staff only at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11.

Thursday, November 10
Colleyville Elementary School | 6 p.m.
Fifth grade students will present a Veterans Day celebration with songs and tributes.

Silver Lake Elementary School | 5:15 p.m.
Third graders will perform a Patriotic/Veterans Day Program.

Timberline Elementary School | 6:30 p.m.
The school’s Veterans Day Program will include songs and tributes honoring veterans. This event is not open to the media.

Friday, November 11

Bear Creek Elementary School | 8:30 a.m.
BCE’s Veterans Day program, which will include a reception for veterans and hosted outdoors, will feature a musical performance by third graders. This event is only open to invited guests.

Bransford Elementary School | 8 a.m.
Students and staff will welcome veterans from the school’s families. Second graders will perform during the event. After the celebration, veterans are invited to a reception in the school’s Learning Commons. This event is only open to invited guests.

Cannon Elementary School | 8:45 a.m.
The school will host a musical performance to honor veterans.

Cross Timbers Middle School | 2:35 p.m.
The school will host a Veterans Day Assembly in the main gym. Tribute will feature a slide show honoring families and community members who have served.

Dove Elementary School | 9 a.m.
The Dove Choir will sing and pay tribute to our veterans. Dove Elementary families are welcome to attend.

Glenhope Elementary School | 8:15 a.m.
The program will be a musical tribute for veterans.

Grapevine Elementary School | 6:30 p.m.
The Veterans Day program will feature performances by third and fourth grade students.

Grapevine Middle School | 8:10 a.m.
Assembly hosted by the GMS Fine Arts Department honoring our veterans.

Grapevine High School | 8:30 a.m.
Stephen Holley, president and CEO of Carry The Load, will be the guest speaker. His message will focus on the sacrifices made by our military, veterans, first responders and their families. GHS’ choirs and band will also perform. Immediately after the event, the school will host a breakfast for veterans in the school's Learning Commons.

Coast Guard Chief Adam Kraft will speak to students in the Law and Public Safety program at GHS. This event is only for students in the class.

Heritage Elementary School | 8:15 a.m.
This is a huge event for HES. Every grade level performs. Fifth graders read about their veterans. It is in the front circle. People bring their chairs.

Heritage Middle School | 2:15 p.m.
The school will host an assembly honoring veterans.

O.C. Taylor Elementary School | 8:30 a.m.
Third and fourth grade students will perform for the parents and veterans. The school will host a reception for the veterans. This event is only open to invited guests.
