At the May 22 Board of Trustees Meeting, Stephanie Speaks was appointed as the new Director of Career and Technology Education for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.
Speaks comes to GCISD from Keller ISD, where she has led the Keller Center for Advanced Learning, the district’s CTE Center, as principal since 2020. Prior to serving as the school’s principal, she was the associate principal for three years. She also has experience as a middle school assistant principal, instructional coach, teacher and athletic coach.
“Stephanie is a proven leader who has developed strong relationships throughout her campus and business community to impact the CTE opportunities for students,” Superintendent Dr. Brad Schnautz said. “Her positive energy and innovative approach will be a tremendous asset as she leads CTE in GCISD.”
In 2022-2023, Speaks was named a Project Lead the Way Outstanding Administrator. She has also earned recognition as a 2012 Northeast Tarrant County Chamber of Commerce Hometown Hero.
“Serving alongside the great leadership and outstanding staff of Grapevine-Colleyville ISD is an exciting opportunity and I am incredibly honored to have been chosen to lead the Career and Technical Education department,” Speaks said. “I have been so impressed with the positive culture of family and community and the emphasis on taking care of each other for the betterment of our students. I can’t wait to join the team and begin building relationships with the entire community.”
Speaks earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University, and she is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Tarleton State University. She will begin her new role in July 2023.
