GCISD is proud to announce that Eric Tong, a Grapevine High School junior, achieved a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT.

“The night before I was continuously checking the College Board website,” Tong said. “When the score appeared the next day, it was extremely exciting.”

When asked what he did to prepare, Tong attributed his success to significant amounts of practice.

“I did over 5,000 practice problems on Khan Academy and highly recommend taking all eight released SAT tests,” he said.

Tong also credits his teachers.

“Teachers are also amazing and willing to help,” he added. “Ms. [Emily] Ramser patiently answered my endless questions to improve in reading and writing, and Mr. [Sterling] Bristow gave extremely helpful answers to any math problem I needed help with.”

Additionally, Tong also participated in PSAT practice exams, which GCISD offers for free to all students starting in eighth grade.

“This is a testament to the district that students have this opportunity to get this type of exposure,” Alex Fingers, principal of Grapevine High School, said referring to the practice exams.

Congratulations to Eric Tong on this incredible accomplishment!
