On April 18-19, members of the Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine High School track & field teams competed in the UIL 5A Region 1 competition, where three GCISD student-athletes qualified for the state championship meet.
CHHS senior Matthew Udemba won the regional discus championship with a distance of 177.4 feet, and Devin Payne placed second in the 300m hurdles with a time of 37.63, which is a new school record. GHS junior Andrew Deyoung took second place in the 3200m with a time of 9:36.21.
All three student-athletes will head to Mike A. Myers Track & Soccer Stadium (707 Clyde Littlefield Dr, Austin, TX 78712) to compete in their respective events on Friday, May 2. Click here to purchase tickets.
