The purpose of the EAC is to serve as part of the ongoing program evaluation process by exploring relevant and timely topics and present considerations to the District as part of the decision making process.

GCISD invited families, community members and staff to express their interest to serve on the Education Advisory Committee. During the 2024-2025 year, the District will have at least two sub committees in the fall semester from EAC members. One committee will focus on local graduation requirements and GPA policies. Another sub committee will learn about and review the District telescoping program. The fall dates are set for August 21, September 18, October 16 and November 20. Locations and times will be communicated with those selected to serve on the committee.

Four district administrators serve as facilitators for the committee and one board member representative. The committee has a total of 30 participants with 15 staff members and 15 parents. Twelve staff members were appointed based on position, experience and areas of expertise to support the topics on the agenda. There are three at-large employees who requested to serve through the invitation. Eight of the staff members are parents of GCISD students. Consideration was given to campus representation, program representation and prior and current participation on campus and district committees/groups. There are an equal number of parents with students at CHHS and GHS.
