Do current GCISD Pre-K students register for Kindergarten?
No, current GCISD Pre-K students are considered existing students and will register with all other returning students. Please see the Returning Student Registration Page for more details.
Required Documents
Students entering GCISD need to complete the enrollment forms in Skyward and must be done prior to a student starting the school year. Families may upload the residency information directly into Skyward. The campus may require an in-person visit to address any possible questions. Each school schedules a time before school begins for enrollment completion of new students and, if needed, returning students. Dates and times for enrollment completion can be found by contacting your school.
Families will need to upload the following documentation items to Skyward:
Parent/Guardian’s Government issued identification - i.e. Texas drivers license
Proof of Residency
Current utility bill with physical address – post office boxes not accepted
A property tax statement, executed lease or deed of sale
Child’s Birth Certificate
Pre-K: Children must be 4 years old by September 1 and meet qualifications
Kindergarten: Children must be 5 years old by September 1
First Grade: Children must be 6 years old by September 1
Vaccination Records – will be reviewed by the school nurse
Your child’s Social Security card, if one has been obtained
Your child's last report card or transcript
For students living with other families, the student's parent and the person with whom the student is living must come to the campus during the time for enrollment completion in order to complete either an Affidavit of Residency and/or a Special Power of Attorney. The person with whom they live must show proof of residency.
