GCISD's Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) is open to the children of GCISD district employees. The goal of the ECDC is to provide a high-quality early childhood environment based on the latest research and best practices for children birth to age three by September 1st of the year of enrollment

Texas Rising Stars
The ECDC is a Texas Rising Stars accredited center. Texas Rising Stars is a quality rating and improvement system for Texas Early Childhood programs. Programs that participate in TRS meet higher quality standards than many other child care programs. The ECDC is also licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Curriculum
ECDC Toddler, Twos and Threes classes use Frog Street Press curriculum. Frog Street is a comprehensive, research-based program that integrates instruction across developmental domains and early learning disciplines.

Child Safety
The ECDC is committed to providing a safe environment for the children. All classrooms and outdoor play areas are monitored by security cameras. All doors remain locked throughout the day. The parent's employee badge is programmed for access to the center during operating hours. Additional reader cards can be provided for the non-employee parent.

Contact Information and Hours
Amy Parker, Coordinator of the ECDC, manages the daily operations. The Center's operational calendar will follow the teacher calendar with additional days of operation during the summer months. The center is currently open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am - 5:30 pm.
